Parking
Parking is always tricky on Memorial Day, even more so this year as the Kaiser Permanente Deck (on the corner of N. Washington St. and Park Ave.) will be closed to the public due to construction activity. The George Mason Square Parking Garage (103 W. Broad St.) is your best bet for free public parking to get to the Parade and Festival. Free parking is available on some side streets, but please check signs for time limits.
Visitors to the Memorial Day festivities are reminded to NOT park in private parking lots with posted “No Parking – Towing Enforced” signs, including shopping centers and office buildings. The private lots are for the customers of businesses only. Many businesses enforce parking restrictions on weekends and holidays and may tow without notice. It is possible your vehicle will be towed even if you patronize a business then leave the premises to attend the festival.
