City Council Special Election Set for September 12

The Fairfax Circuit Court has issued a court order setting the special election for the Fairfax City Council vacancy for September 12, 2017, as requested by the Mayor and City Council.
The vacancy on the City Council follows the election of David Meyer as Mayor of the City of Fairfax, in the February 7 Special Election. Meyer was serving his fifth term on City Council at the time of the election.

Absentee Voting:
You may request an absentee ballot to be sent to you by mail up to one year prior to the election in which you wish to vote absentee. In-Person absentee voting is available 45 days prior to each election. All ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on election night in order to be counted. Ballots may be returned by mail or returned in person by the voter.
