The International Saxophone Symposium, first hosted by the United States Navy Band in 1978, is an annual two-day event that features a mix of performances, lectures, and masterclasses designed for musicians of all ages. This year’s Symposium will feature over 150 events performed by prominent saxophonists from around the world.
The U.S. Navy Concert Band will perform a featured concert on Friday, January 11 at 8 p.m. at the George Mason University Center for the Arts Concert Hall with featured soloists Antonio Felipe Belijar, Taimur Sullivan and Chief Musician Jonathan Yanik. The U.S. Navy Band Commodores will perform a featured concert on Saturday, January 12 at 8 p.m. at the George Mason University Center for the Arts Concert Hall with featured soloist Bob Sheppard.
