The inauguration ceremony for the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Fairfax County constitutional officers and the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District directors will be held on Monday, Dec. 16, at 6 p.m. in the forum of the Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax. The event is free and open to the public.
Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge Penney S. Azcarate will administer the oath of office to incoming Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeffrey C. McKay and 14 other elected officials, whose terms of office begin Jan. 1, 2020. A small reception will be held in the forum prior to the event beginning at 5 p.m. with music provided by students from Hayfield Secondary School’s band and orchestra.

The inauguration ceremony will be televised live with closed captioning on Fairfax County Government Channel 16—in HD on Cox channel 1016 or on Verizon and Comcast on Channel 16. It also will be livestreamed on the county website. The ceremony will be replayed on Channel 16 and streaming at 8 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 28 and at 10 a.m. on Dec. 22 and 29 and available via Video on Demand.
