Join us during Invasive Species Awareness Week for our first Forest Rescues training session to learn how to identify, monitor, and remove non-native, invasive plant species in the City of Fairfax.
By completing this training, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in our volunteer park stewardship program with additional completion of staff-supervised volunteer hours removing invasives.
This training is in-person only at Katherine Johnson Middle School library (3801 Jermantown Rd).

Helps administer and determine eligibility for public benefit programs that support adults and families working towards financial stability. Learn about programs and services offered and how to apply. Many programs are open year-round, while others have specific application periods.

Access emergency “basic needs” assistance and/or link to the homelessness continuum, and connect to county- and community-based resources. This service is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in multiple foreign languages.

If you experience a change in life circumstance outside of open enrollment for health care, you may be eligible for a 60-day special enrollment period to apply for health insurance through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. Enroll Virginia is available to provide free, unbiased assistance with health insurance options available through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace, Medicaid and FAMIS.

24/7 virtual assistance and resources for Virginia’s former federal employees and other workers impacted by the federal government transition, including unemployment insurance and navigating unemployment benefits

Job seekers have access to a comprehensive system of employment and training services and resources, either in person or virtually. Services include updating your resume for the private sector, interview preparation, career coaching and employment assessments, among other things. Offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
