WHAT: Fair Oaks Mall Celebrates Lunar New Year 2017

One of the region’s largest events of its kind will celebrate the Year of the Rooster.
Fair Oaks Mall will host its 14th annual Lunar New Year Festival on Saturday, Jan. 28 and Sunday, Jan. 29 to usher in the Year of the Rooster. Presented by the Washington Hai Hua Community Center, the unique event will feature free, family-friendly performances, ceremonies and exhibitions each day in Grand Court West from 1-5 p.m.
The celebration will showcase traditional Chinese dragon dances, music, Chinese knotting, calligraphy, painting, martial arts, arts and crafts for children and a special lantern festival.

Ring in the Year of the Rooster at Fair Oaks Mall. Celebration will be hosted in Grand Court West from 1pm to 5pm on January 28th & 29th.
More than 200 performers will participate in this year’s 14th annual Lunar New Year celebrations, representing such countries as China, Korea, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Tahiti and Hawaii. Fair Oaks Lunar New Year is produced in association with the Washington Hai Hua Community Center, a nonprofit organization working as a bridge between new immigrants and American society since 1989.
