July Fourth Celebration
Celebrate Independence Day in The Little City with an evening of food, fellowship, and fireworks!
6:00 P.M. – Grab dinner and the best seats by getting to the field early in the evening. Margaret’s Soulfood Truck & Catering, Los Wingeez Food Truck, and other food trucks (including Ice Cream, Cotton Candy, and Shaved Ice). There will be a recreation area for kids.
7:00 P.M. – Enjoy live music by Turtle Recall
9:20 P.M. – Fireworks (start time is approximate)

Seating is available at Jack Gambill Athletic Fields or the Northern Virginia Graduate Center Parking Lot.
The event is free to the public. Blankets and flat-based chairs are allowed for seating on the field. Food and drinks will be sold on site, but alcohol, smoking, glass containers, fireworks, and pets are not permitted.

Parking
Parking at the High School will be restricted to event personnel and visitors with a handicap placard. Visitors are encouraged to park for free at the West Falls Church Metro Station Parking Garage, accessible from Haycock Road.
Where to Park
Visitors are encouraged to park at the West Falls Church Metro Station Parking Garage, accessible from Haycock Road. Parking at the garage is free on holidays. There are over 2,000 parking spaces available and is a short walk to the festivities.
Where NOT to Park
George Mason High School and Mary Ellen Henderson parking lots: School parking lots will be restricted to event personnel and visitors with handicap placards.
The Northern Virginia Center (aka UVA/Virginia Tech) parking lot: This lot, off of Falls Church Dr., will be closed to event participants
The Falls Church Plaza Shopping Center: The shopping center across from the High School, at 1200 W. Broad St., is for patrons of the shopping center businesses only. You may be towed if you park and leave the premises
Residential Street Parking Restrictions
Parking will be restricted within City limits near George Mason High School so that emergency vehicles can use residential streets. From 6 p.m to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, the following streets will have parking restricted to one side of the street only:
Grove Ave.
Birch St.
Spruce St.
Offut Dr.
Falls Ave.
Traffic restrictions will also be in place after the show. Visitors are asked to heed police officers directing traffic.
Handicapped Parking
Handicapped parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the school campus (at the “Senior Parking Lot”). Enter from Haycock Road. and show your placard; officers will direct vehicles.
Additional Independence Day Activities
Don’t miss the Independence Day Readings of the Founding Documents of the Nation at The Falls Church Episcopal Historic Church at noon. Hosted by the Village Preservation and Improvement Society (VPIS), this annual event allows us to focus on the meaning of Independence Day with a review of the issues of the times and the reading of the important documents that created the basis for our democracy and freedom.
