Access Services is hosting an Assistive Technology and Disability Resource Fair at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035, on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The fair kicks off with Fairfax County Public Library Director Jessica Hudson followed by keynote speaker, Karen Keninger, director of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS).
In addition to meeting representatives from county organizations and companies that assist the low vision and differently-abled communities, attendees can take advantage of free glaucoma and vision screenings.
Generous support from the Friends of Reston Regional Library and the Fairfax Library Foundation has made this free event possible. No registration is required.

Free glaucoma and vision screening. Attendees will be able to take advantage of these free screenings throughout the day.
Residents experiencing low vision can learn about home delivery services and Talking Books, a free national program under the auspices of the Library of Congress.
Hear the latest developments from Keynote Speaker Karen Keninger, Director of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS).
Learn about new assistive technologies, and what services/resources are available through local service providers to support people with disabilities and their loved ones.
Meet the staff of Access Services, the only branch of the Fairfax County Public Library that focuses on removing barriers to library services for people with disabilities.
